drone2805 The eccentricity of Jodi Rose is refreshing. His obsession with the resonance of bridge structures gives amazing results and colorful compositions! An artist to follow and watch! I particularly like this live album, as well as "Vibrations" and "Variations". Favorite track: Singing Bizovik Bridge 2007 (1).

about

Singing Bridges Live presents a selection of bridge recordings and video footage exploring the possibility of composing these sounds into a 'global bridge symphony'. The sound work is created using contact microphones to amplify and record the vibrations in the cables of suspension bridges.

Australian sound artist Jodi Rose travels the world listening to the sound of bridge cables, hearing in them an echo of the silent longings, missed connections and forgotten dreams that slip away from our everyday lives.

Echoing the telecommunications wires circling the globe, the cables of suspension and stay-cabled bridges reverberate with unexpected sounds, each structure creating a unique texture, rhythm and sonic environment.

Singing Bridges is a project by Jodi Rose [AU] in collaboration with artists, musicians and producers around the world.

Track Name: Jodi Rose, Mari Keski-Korsu, Lasse Kaikkonen & Jussi Lehtipuu - Singing Bridges Live @ Club Gloria, Helsinki
Singing Bridges performance at Club Gloria combines bridge recordings, video and musical improvisations. The original sound work is created using contact microphones to amplify and record the vibrations in the cables of stay cabled and suspension bridges. The bridge sounds are edited into a 30 minute composition, played with live manipulation and processing, and accompanied by improvisation from Lasse Kaikkonen on Kantele, Jussi Lehtipuu on Cello and video mixing by Mari Keski-Korsu. Club Gloria is a fantastic old cinema with red velvet balcony seats, a large stage and great dance floor. The performance is well received; afterwards I enjoy Shogun Kunitoko’s analogue synthesiser and electric organ concert and dancing to DJ Coolof in a happy melee of artists.

What is Bridgeland?

Bridgeland is singing. Bridgeland is dancing. Bridgeland is freedom. Bridgeland is yes. Bridgeland is infinite. Bridgeland is every bridge around the world. Bridgeland is home.

Every bridge, everywhere is part of Bridgeland.
Bridgeland is a metanation on every bridge around the world.
